Dr James Verdon

I am a Senior Lecturer in Applied Geophysics for the School of Earth Sciences, University of Bristol.

My research interests lie in the behaviour of fractured rocks as they are affected by underground human activities. This includes the use of geophysical methods to image fractured rocks, and in particular the use of microseismic monitoring to image geomechanical deformation; and the use of both statistical and numerical modelling methods to simulate the impacts of human activities in the subsurface.
