    Current position and research interests

I am currently a Research Fellow at the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Bristol, working with the CETSEI group. My research interests include global and exploration seismology, with an emphasis on seismic anisotropy and dense array data.

    Current projects

    • DESMOND (external link)
Deep Earth Systems, Mantle ON Down. A NERC funded consortium aimed at understanding the composition, chemistry, and dynamics of the deep Earth through an interdisciplinary study of the core-mantle and inner-outer core interfaces.

    • RFI
Robust Fracture Indication. A consortium funded industrial project into using geomechanical modelling, seismic modelling and seismic data analysis for determination of fracture characteristics in hydrocarbon reservoirs.

    • The SEISM Experiment (external link)
An multi-component seismic experiment to study the Seychelles microcontinent.

    • ATRAK
A commercial 3D fully-anisotropic seismic raytracer and support toolset.

    • Useful codes
Some useful C, Fortran and Matlab codes

    Previous work

    • SAIL (external link, password protected sponsor site)
Seismic Anisotropy as an Indicator of Lithology. A consortium funded industrial project integrating seismic and laboratory observations of anisotropy in sedimentary basins.

    • Mid-mantle anisotropy
A study of seismic anisotropy in the mid-mantle around the Tonga-Kermadec subduction system, using modelling and data analysis of shear-wave splitting.

    Miscellaneous Links

    • UK-IUGG
Local contacts for IUGG, the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics.

    • BCOG
Bristol CO2 Group. A group of projects studying seismic monitoring of CO2 sequestration in hydrocarbon reservoirs, funded by NERC, UKERC, industry and the PTRC Canada.
